Ms. Duan Jackson serves as the inaugural Systemwide Director for Student Advising Initiatives at the California State University Office of the Chancellor. Her portfolio includes supporting administrators, faculty directors and student affairs professionals overseeing academic advising, career services, learning support services, and new student orientation. Previously, Ms. Jackson served as the Executive Director of University Academic Advisement and the California Promise Program at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) overseeing advising and support programming for undeclared/undecided students, student-athletes, transfer students, and students in need of support in math and English, which also included supporting advising leadership campus-wide. Additionally, she served as the inaugural Director of Advising for the School of Art. During her 30-year tenure at CSULB, she had the opportunity to teach for seven years and serve on many campus-wide committees to support student success. Ms. Jackson continues to consult on student success initiatives at universities nationally. She received her Master of Public Administration, and MA in English at California State University, Long Beach, and is a doctoral candidate in the Educational Leadership program at the University of Arizona and will graduate May 2023.
