Lisa works with a wide range of higher education institutions. Her expertise includes higher education accreditation. She routinely assists colleges and universities in preparing for accreditation visits from institutional and programmatic accrediting agencies. This includes conducting mock accreditation visits, focus groups, and reviewing self-study documents. Lisa also assists institutions in responding to adverse accreditation actions, monitoring and special reports and advises related to substantive change approvals. In addition to working with colleges and universities, Lisa also provides counsel to accrediting agencies. In this regard, Lisa assists accrediting agencies in their recognition process before the U.S. Department of Education and in responding to compliance inquiries from the Department. Prior to joining Husch Blackwell, Lisa was the Vice President of Accreditation for a higher education organization. In this role, Lisa was responsible for institutional and programmatic accreditation at approximately 60 college campuses. Lisa broadens and shares her knowledge through involvement in education-related causes, such as serving on the board of directors of an accrediting agency. Lisa also is a regular speaker at accreditation conferences. During the last year, Lisa presented at four U.S. accrediting agency conferences. During 2022 and 2023 Lisa was recognized as a Leading Lawyer in education by the Legal 500.
