Bio
Sharlene Sayegh is the Director of Institutional Assessment and ALO at California State University, Long Beach where she partners with multiple divisions and units on campus and oversees accreditation and institutional assessment activities on campus.
A graduate of WSCUC’s Assessment Leadership Academy (Cohort 3), she co-facilitated the popular "Assessment 101" workshop from 2014 to 2017. She has also co-facilitated assessment workshops for the Student Affairs Partnering with Academic Affairs knowledge community of NASPA and has facilitated workshops internationally. 
She has taken her expertise on assessment and outcomes alignment to numerous conference panels and has written thought pieces for NILOA, Assessment Update, and Exemplars of Assessment, Vol. 2. She is currently working on a monograph built on her conference presentations. Dr. Sayegh has served as an accreditation site reviewer and Assistant Chair for WSCUC accreditation teams, a service she greatly enjoys. 
Sharlene began her professional life as a historian and taught for over two decades. She presented her work at numerous academic conferences and co-authored the textbook History and Theory. She has also facilitated several professional-development workshops for high-school teachers on world historical topics.
Sharlene earned her PhD in History and Critical Theory from the University of California, Irvine and her BA and MA in History from UNLV (second field Sociology). 
Sharlene enjoys reading, hanging out with her family, and watching Doctor Who.
