Igor Himelfarb, Ph.D., MBA is the Director of Psychometrics and Research at the Narional Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Additionally, Himelfarb serves as an Associate Professor of Business Administration and Psychology at Lincoln University. His specialization is in statistics, research methodology, and applications of behavioral research to educational effectiveness. Dr. Himelfarb’s research interests are in measurement and testing. He is an author to numerous peer-reviewed journal publications and various conference presentations. Dr. Himelfarb has a rich experience in developing, planning, administrating, scoring, evaluating, and validating operational testing programs in the fields of healthcare and education. His experience in developing valid exams includes developing, administrating, analyzing and reporting results of the job analysis surveys. Himelfarb has been the project director and the lead author of the Practice Analysis of Chiropractic 2020. Additionally, he designed and directed several Delphi studies to align the exam content with classroom curricula. Himelfarb conducted standard setting workshops working with stakeholders representing state boards, educators, and general public.
Prior to joining the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, Himelfarb worked in world-leading industry companies such as the Gallup Organization, and Educational Testing Service. As a statistician, Dr. Himelfarb provided consulting services in the areas of survey construction, testing, statistical analysis of large-scale assessment and psychometrics.
Himelfarb holds a Ph.D. in Education with an emphasis in research methodology and educational statistics, an MA in Statistics, MA in Educational Psychology, MBA with an emphasis on marketing and data analysis, and a BA in Psychology.
