Joe Ross is President of Reach University. He also serves as president of the California County Boards of Education. Prior, President Ross managed an after-school program serving over 1000 middle school students in Northern California. Subsequently, he worked with numerous higher education institutions to help bring their academic programs online. He also led the development of a mobile app to provide free college counseling for high school students.

Outside of education, President Ross has served as general counsel to a venture studio and several startups based in California. Earlier in his career, President Ross served for eight years on active duty in the U.S. Navy, with deployments to the Middle East and Pacific, and assignments ashore in Seoul, Puerto Rico, and San Diego. Later, as Deputy District Attorney in San Mateo County, he served as sole counsel in numerous hearings and jury trials.

The son of a U.S. Postal Service labor custodian, President Ross received his B.A. in political science from Yale College, where he was awarded a Truman Scholarship, and earned his J.D. from Stanford Law School, where he was both Managing Editor of the Stanford Law & Policy Review and President of the Stanford Law Review.
