Neurodiversity is a "frontier of diversity” (Ezerins et al., 2023). The neurodiversity movement reframed autism, ADHD, learning differences, and other developmental, cognitive, and emotional differences as diversity to be embraced. Yet, neurodivergent people still experience discrimination in many areas of life – notably, in the workplace, where neurodivergent college graduates face 30% to 80% unemployment and underemployment rates. Moreover, even “benevolent” interventions designed to help neurodivergent learners and job seekers often rely on myths, stereotypes, typecasting, and outdated assumptions rather than current evidence. This workshop aims to empower attendees with the evidence, best practices, and actionable strategies to champion neuroinclusion on their campuses and to improve post-graduation outcomes for neurodivergent students.
